Fedora Core 2 & Linksys WMP54G PCI

Hello everybody,

I'm completely new to Fedora, I used to run Gentoo and Debian previously. I figured it'd save me a bunch of time trying to get wireless working if I used Fedora. Plus, it took waaaay less time to install.

Okay, so here's my problem. I completed every step of the ndiswrapper tutorial until the "/usr/local/sbin/dhcpcd wlan0" command. I run this command and some data is displayed and then my systems freezes up. The error message is something like "kernel panic error" and something about an "interrupt handler."

Does anybody know how to handle this problem? Or should I go out and buy a different card that'll be recognized and set up easier?

Thanks in advance,

Greg

forgot some details

Hi,

I forgot to mention that using ndiswrapper my card is recognized using its windows driver. Everything up to the point where that "/usr/local/sbin/dhcpcd wlan0" command is run works fine.

Thanks again.

I got it working... I was using ndiswrapper 0.8 with kernel 2.6.5 and apparently this doesn't work. Then I used ndiswrapper 0.10 with the same kernel and it worked no problem.
