email 'send' NO - email 'receive' YES..?

hi,

i travel a lot - and use wifi access in hotels all over the world..mostly unsecured network access..
for email communication i use kmail from within the kontact-wrapper..

my prob is that i can receive emails fine - but sending is not possible..brings up an error window with this text:

Sending failed:
Could not connect to host smtp1.myprovider.co.uk
The message will stay in the 'outbox' folder until you either fix the problem (e.g. a broken address) or remove the message from the 'outbox' folder.
The following transport protocol was used: host smtp
Do you want me to continue sending the remaining messages?

i have altered the smtp1 address in this thread for privacy reasons..

does anyone know what i can do in order to be able to send emails..?

krgds

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
