Driver for DLink - DWL-G122 USB Adapter??

Hi. I'm planning to change my notebook operating system from Win XP to Ubuntu 6.06. But my problem is my DLink Wireless G USB Adapter. I checked with the manufacturer and they do not support this for Linux or Ubuntu. The model of my adapter is DLink Wireless G Adapater DWL - G122.

Anybody who can help me finding driver for this?? Or maybe there's other way to run this adapter to Linux (Ubuntu) Operating System.

Thanks in advance.

You'll most likely have to install ndiswrapper on your Ubuntu machine. Try looking up ndiswrapper for Ubuntu or try checking:

http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net

to see if your USB device is supported with ndiswrapper.

There are several versions of this card, and they all appear to have different chipsets. Lucky for you though, they all appear to have native linux drivers. If you choose to use ndiswrapper, it will work with flying colors without any trouble at all (don't quote me on that), or you could even use the native linux driver for it, which would be a lot easier for you and would save a lot of hassle. Look at http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/m...dex.php/List#D , find your card, and it will have a link to where you can download it.

For concerns about syntax and vernacular try http://www.wiki.com to feel comfortable and proceed to resolve your hurdle and curiosity. Try http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/HOWTO-INDEX/howtos.html for tutorials about most Linux Distro"s. I agree the procedure for "ndiswrapper" is tedious. I have read many success stories with its inclusion, and IMHO suggest it to be worthwhile. We have many friends here in these Linux forums. We stick together and watch the M$Windows get replaced. Remodeling is one of my hobbies. Good luck.
