Dell TrueMobile 1180 USB Wireless Adapter

Hello everybody,
I was just wondering if anybody knew how to setup a Dell TrueMobile 1180 USB Wireless Adapter. I currently use Fedora Core 3 but I can use anything if anybody knows how to set it up. I recently tried to get help setting up in a classroom on Mandriva. When we attached the adapter to one of his USB ports it recognized my adapter, but that was about it. We could not recieve a signal to or from the adapter. When we looked at one screen the adapter was running as sit0, and on another window it was running as wan0 (I believe that was it, it was something like this if I am getting it wrong). We didn't try using ndiswrapper, but if that is the way to install it I can download it because I do have the driver CD. By the way, if you need any other information about my card I can give it to you. Oh, and last but not least I know my card doesn't have any problems because I can get internet through it on Windows XP, just not on the Open Source operating systems such as Fedora Core 3. Thanks for the help.

Oh, by the way, sorry if this is a repeat of something already posted but I'm in class right now so I didn't have enough time to check to see if there were any other threads that matched mine.

And finally, I don't know a ton about open source operating systems, I am in a Redhat class but even then I'm no expert, so please, if you respond, type out steps for me to do because otherwise I'll get lost. Thanks.
