Debian "squeeze" install - Intel Centrino 6230 wifi problems

Forgive my noob-ness, as I'm only here to learn. ( If this is not in the right forum, please feel free to move!!)

I just re-formatted my Sony Vaio VPSA laptop to dual-boot windows 7 and Debian linux. I know from googling the last 24 hours that this has been a problem in the past. I cannot get linux to recognize the wifi adapter.

I've tried all of the recommendations, including ones on this site, but I've had no luck.

Perhaps we can take baby steps to figure out what I'm doing. I'm willing and able to post output from commands.

Please help!!

Information about how to make that device usable with Debian can be found in the Debian Wiki: http://wiki.debian.org/iwlwifi?actio...edirect=iwlagn

I followed that Wiki page step by step, but it still will not recognize the wireless adapter.

What is the next step ?

(Also, can a mod please move this to the right forum?)

Did you get any error messages while doing this? After following that procedure the wireless adapter should work.
