I just got my computer running on a Linux OS this morning for the first time. Everything is great so far, except that I can't connect to the internet via wifi (ethernet works fine, however).
I've tried installing the right drivers and firmwares, which I could just be doing wrong.
I've also tried finding wicd, but I've had no luck in finding it or installing it.
I am running the GNOME desktop environment on Debian 5.0 Lenny
I entered the command lspci in the terminal; my network controller is:
Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 2915ABG [Calexio2] Network Connection (rev 05)
I hope someone out there can give me a possible solution.
Thanks!
But remember....Wicd conflicts with network-manager so network-manager must be uninstalled. Unless you have the Debian DVD to re-install network-manager (should you later decide you do not want Wicd), you will have a difficult time getting back online.
