D-link DWL-610 (running but no data)

Hi!
I use the ndiswrapper (ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net) to run my D-link DWL-610 card under Linux (using the Debian distro).

When loading the ndiswrapper module (modprobe ndiswrapper) the card fires up and I can use it in the Managed mode (even with DHCP). Then I do the following to get it into Ad hoc mode:

iwconfig wlan0 mode Ad-hoc
iwconfig wlan0 essid my_ess
ifconfig wlan0 10.0.3.16 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 10.0.3.255
ifconfig wlan0 up

All the values get updated and the card is assigned the new address, but I cant get any packets. Ethereal display 0 received packets in a environment where there are over 5 other wireless machines sending and I also cant ping this machine from one of the others. Why dont I get packets delivered on the interface? Any ideas are appreciated!

/Rick
