Connecting to the internet with Puppy through XP

Hello,

I have a question that hopefully somebody will e able to solve.

I am new to Linux and have Ubuntu working perfectly on my newer Toshiba satellite and Puppy On an Airis(Spanish brand, takes pieces and puts PCs together). Anyway it is a Windows 98 with 128 MB Ram and Pentium III. It doesn't have any Wireless adapter, therefore I cannot connect to the internet directly from my router. What I planned to do was connect my Puppy linux to the XP desktop I have (which does have wireless internet functioning) and From the Ethernet cable connect Puppy to the internet. COuld you tell me if this can be done and if it can then how

Thank You

This can be done.

MEPIS linux does it out of the box!

For Puppy you may need to set it up using XP as the gateway but that is a trivial text file change, assuming puppy doesnt have a GUI for it ? I dunno.

Anyway in any event your XP box will need to be configured as a gateway and this is easy in XP - you simply setup networking with "ICS" or Internet Connection Sharing - i.e. "Share this internet connection"

So, YES is the answer.
