Connecting to the internet in Backtrack 3

Dear Linux Community,

I recently discovered Backtrack, and am really excited to work with it. However, I am unable to connect to the internet. I use Ubuntu, and am able to connect to the wireless networks with ease, but I'm new to the KDE.

Can any of you guys help? I've used Wireless Manager, only to be told something like "no wireless networks found, wireless manager will now quit." I know I'm in range, because I can connect to the network in Ubuntu from the exact same spot.

Thanks!

Hi there,
When you say Wireless Manager do you mean Wicd?
Have you checked if you have installed the correct drivers. That generally does the trick. And then do you use encryption for your wireless, WEP , WPA?
I have used Ubuntu before with Gnome , now I use Opensuse with KDE.
I dont know if this will help.
