change channel or frequency with ndiswrapper?

after installing ndiswrapper 1.42rc2 from sources as per their website on my acer tm2480 with broadcom 4318 chipset built in it basically worked immediately but on channel 11. but since many people in my neighborhood use channel 11 for their access point I changed my access point to ch13. but now I would like to change my wireless on my laptop to ch13 too. does anyone know how to do this?

thanks, all help is much appreciated.

Edit the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-wlan0 file (or create if needed), example below;

TYPE=Wireless
DEVICE=wlan0
HWADDR=
BOOTPROTO=dhcp
# IPADDR=192.168.49.62
NETMASK=255.255.255.0
# GATEWAY=wireless AP IP address here if needed, remove the comment (#) also
DHCP_HOSTNAME=desired computer name here
DOMAIN=
ONBOOT=yes
ONHOTPLUG=yes
USERCTL=yes
IPV6INIT=no
PEERDNS=no
ESSID=
CHANNEL=13

Thanks Lenard, i was just about to post my own answer here as I think this works too, but may be I mistaking somewhat:

command: iwconfig wlan0 channel 13

changes the channel to 13

the location you mentioned /etc/sysconfig/ does exist on my system but there are no files present at all nor the directory /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/. so I think i fixed it this way.

what os are you using? under the latest mepis (6.9 RCx.x) it works out of the box but that is still in beta, wait for the final release and try that if do not want to play with beta releases. final release should be here soon. i have mine working under mepis 6.0 lts but i do believe i have un- and reinstalled ndiswrapper. find the way (goolge) to properly uninstall it first
to activate my wireles under current mepis (6.0 lts) i have to start a gui proggie called 'wireless assistant' each time i (re)start my computer, click on my avaiable wireless station (i use a static ip network, may be that is why i have to do this) but it takesless than 10 seconds to do this so it no hassle really. it the connects instantly.
