Can't get Wireless and usb modem to work under linspire

Hi,

A few days ago I installed Linspire 4.5, right now everything works well except the internet.
I have an Alcatel Speedtouch usb modem, but when I plug it in linspire doesn't seem to detect it, and I also have a wireless card built in my computer from asus that doesn't seem to work either but that is because it's not supported I think but I'm not sure about that because it could be my own installing error, I'm new to linux see.

I'd like to know if it's because of me they don't work or that they will never work in the first place, and what I have to do to get my internet connection up and running on Linspire so I can start enjoying linux.

Could somebody please help me with this??

Thanks in advance
