cannot connect to unsecured wireless network on edgy ubuntu

I'm using AR5212 card. It works perfect at home when wireless is WPA personal. On campus, network manager can detect wireless network, just failed whenever trying to connect to that.
Any ideas how to solve this ? Thanks
