Arrow Cannot access my AP in ad-hoc mode!

I want to access an access point with my laptop in ad-hoc mode. Both stations are configured to be within a 10.3.26.0 network with 255.255.255.0 mask. They have same ESSID.

When though i try to ping the access point i get host unreachable.

IEEE 802.11b ESSID:"mtx-client" Nickname:"monaco"
Mode:Ad-Hoc Frequency:2.462 GHz Cell: 00:90:4B:0AF6
Bit Rate=2 Mb/s Sensitivity=1/3
Retry min limit:8 RTS thrff Fragment thrff
Encryption keyff
Power Managementff
Link Quality=65/70 Signal level=-32 dBm Noise level=-98 dBm
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:2 Invalid misc:38 Missed beacon:0

When i change to managed mode i can access my AP but in ad-hoc i cannot..

Any solutions proposed?

You need to work in either Managed or Auto mode in order to interact with an AP. Can I ask why you need to use AdHoc mode?

After a pointlessly rude response like that, you're on your own as far as I'm concerned. People here donate their time to answer questions, and if you can't be polite and civil, you're going to be out of luck.

Yes maybe a bit impolite but i was in a psycological preasure as many working people get to be sometimes and especially when they dont have time at all.
but rude and uncivilized? Spare me the preaching plz...

Lastly, thank you for your reply though i regularly get responses that dont help me directly but instead try to question what is that i want to do possible coz they want to prove is wrong!

My pardon;
People need to ask in order to help one's out.
