I am afraid, Justin, that you are going to have to face your nightmare. D-Link does not, as of yet anyway, release the specifications of their wireless card so that third party drivers can be developed.
There is a list, however, that will help you choose your next card. You will find it
here.
This list contains a pretty complete set of "working cards" (pcmcia, PCI and USB) for a particular driver: wlan-ng. There are good rpm's for this driver, too, so you can get a card to work without too much trouble.
