Can't spoof MAC using madwifi drivers.

Hi. I used madwifi-ng current, madwifi-ng 1486 and madwifi old without success.

Of course i used ifconfig ath0 down, followed by ifconfig ath0 hw ether 00:11:22:33:44:55 command.
Playing with wifi0 did nothing.
I tried macchanger too.

I can change the MAC showed by ifconfig, but i can't connect to my filtering access point.

I use 311T and 511T from netgear.

According to the madwifi wiki, you can only change the MAC address on wifi0, not the VAP. Have you read this Wiki page?
I hope that helps.

Using madwifi-0.9.2 with the madwifi-ng-r1679.patch applied this method seems to work for me:

wlanconfig ath0 destroy
macchanger -r wifi0
wlanconfig ath0 create wlandev wifi0 wlanmode sta
