Can't add interface to bridge


I try to make my wireless adapter fake access point when i write this command
Brtcl addif evil wlan0
I get this error
Can't add wlan0 to bridge evil :invaild argument !

The wlan interface has to be up. I suggest using hostap to add it to the bridge.
