Belkin Wireless USB Problem
I'm currently running KNOPPIX 5.0 on an old IBM desktop, installed to HD using the Debian method. My problem is that KNOPPIX won't load properly unless I unplug my Belkin 802.11g USB wireless network card. KNOPPIX hangs at the "autoconfiguring devices" green bar--which goes on for like eternity. Everything works fine when I unplug it, unless I plug it in after I startx into KDE--when it will hang on "configuring devices" (or whatever it says when it's loading). So, I have KNOPPIX 5.0 w/o internet. LAME.
If I run netcardconfig, w/o the USB card, it will recognize eth0 only--which I can't plug in b/c I don't have cables running in here. If I plug in the USB card, and run netcardconfig, it recognizes both eth0 and eth1--but I get an error message after DCHP broadcasting that says something to the effect of "not enough memory allocated--mission failed--press return to exit" which doesn't make any sense to me.
I've looked over the RT73 installation on the other forums, but it looks a bit complicated and probably won't work. Any suggestions as to how to get this USB wireless card to work?
