bcm43xx Broadcom 4318 wireless card Help Me


I am running SuSE Linux 10.2 x86_64

I am having problem activing the card.

steps i've done:

i get this error message.

Welcome to LQ!

You've got a couple of potential issues here. From the iwconfig output, it doesn't look like you've configured your card. Have you done anything to set up the SSID and any needed encryption keys? I'm talking about WEP or WPA keys.

Did you install firmware for the bcm43xx? It wouldn't have been distributed with Suse, so you need to do this yourself. I've got instructions on how to do that on my site if you haven't and need some direction.

Finally, you might want to consider using ndiswrapper. The 4318 doesn't always work well with bcm43xx. Just make sure you get a 64 bit Windows driver if you go this way.
