Backtrack Wireless Network

I installed backtrack from remote exploit, there is a GUI utility there that lets you detect all the access points around you, i can see multiple ones but how do I configure my wireless card to connect to a specific one that i choose. i want my wireless network to automatically connect and obtain an IP from the access point I specify. Any one have suggestions?
