atmel problem with readhat Advanced Server

hi all, i need some help please :-)
here is my problem, i hope someone can help me:
i installed a fresh Redhat (AS) on my Acer portable.
i have a 3com wireless card (3crwe62092b) and i downloaded the Atmelwlandriver.2.1.1.tar.bz2.
**
i made the "make .config" and i am trying to get the "make all" running but i got this error with the (Fastvnet_cs.o) creation : (i only cut/past useful part of output)
.....
Fastvnet_cs.c: In function 'SetMgmtTimer':
Fastvnet_cs.c: 1533: structure has no member named 'list'
make[3]: *** [fastvnet_cs.o] Error 1
.....
I searched a lot on the net to get similar problem with this configuration but i did not find !. I already re-installed 5 times the whole stuff after testing several things but without success..
I installed the full source of RH and checked all parameters i could but i am not expert in 'C' (unfortunately).
**
here after usefull info that could help :
Kernel version used 2.4.21-4.EL
gcc 3.2.3 (redhat 3.2.3-20)
**
tell me if you need more info... and many thanks in advance for your help. i am starting to be out of idea with it...
last info..i also tried with atmelwlandriver.2.1.22 and 3.2.4.4...but same result....
i focused on 2.1.1 because i know other people managed to get it running with same card as mine...

any suggestion is welcome...1 week i am working on the problem is starting to die soflty

i made the "make .config"
That strikes me as an odd command. Usually when you configure for a compile, you use ./configure. Could you post the steps you've taken to configure and compile this driver?

well, i fact i just followed what explained into the "readme" coming within the "atmelwlandriver.2.1.1.tar.bz2" file.

it says :<<
=======================================================================
ATMEL PCMCIA PCI USB linux driver
=======================================================================

+---------------------+
|PART A. Instructions.|
+---------------------+

1. Configuration.
--
You can either run make config or bash scripts/Config.sh.
You have to answer a few questions and a .config file will be created.

2. Build and installation
--
a. If a .config file exists then you need to do the following steps:

# make all
# make install

b. If a .config file does not exist, then you need to do the following steps:

# make realclean
# make config
After the configuration queries :

# make all
# make install
......
*********************************** >>

well, i notice i wrote (i made the "make . config")... but of course it must be read i made the "make config")" as it is indicated at 2.b here before.
that prompted me the list of atmel driver i want to select for the compilation. This part worked find, i selected "3COM" one.... problem appears in the next step, once run the "Make all"

If I were in your shoes, I'd download a new versions of the drivers. As long as you followed the configuration directions, the error you're seeing suggests a problem in the code. It might even be worthwhile to download an older version if a new download of this version still has the error.

Of course i did it,...i downloaded the very last one 3.2.4.4... but it is always the same problem. i guess the problem is more related to the ReadHat version...because i know someone who managed to get it working with a Mandrake disrib.... on the same hardware....

could it be a stupid idea to (re)build the pcmcia-cs ??.. i did not check what version is currently part of my kernel (because i am not at home right now) but i found pcmcia-cs-3.2.8.tar.gz that looks to be the most recent available !.
i guess the "SetMgmtTimer" is a Kernel Specific Function defined (or redefined there)... maybe it will solve the problem. I am doing stuff i don't fully understand but i don't have choice if i want to have it working....
Any advice is still welcome.... Sorry to bother everybody with my little problem...

I think you misunderstood me....I was suggesting that something went wrong with the download and your copy of the drivers is corrupted.
