Cool Application for monitoring Wireless Access Points

I would like to install an app that monitors available Wireless Access Points. Preferably an RPM.

I am running mandrake 9.1, KDE 3.1
Dell Inspiron 8100
Orinoco Silver card

The card works great, have it setup just fine
I have KWiFimanager installed, it works fine.

BUT, I need a way to monitor available WAPs, basically to get the SSID. I know there is the Wellenreiter application, but I am not an expert in making/installing from scratch, rather I'm big on RPMs :^)

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance
