The Speedtouch has an ethernet out (RJ-45 for the anal) right? Almost all wireless routers have a ethernet uplink port and then can negotiate pppoe or pppoa from their little web-interface thingy. What kind of wireless device are we talking about?

No, not at all, the modem has an ethernet out port, you plug the wireless router into that over normal old cat-5, connect your other machines to the wireless router (which usually has normal old ethernet ports too), log into the wireless router over a web interface... yeah, its running a web server to control it, add in all your log in info for the broadband, and it will NAT for all the other machines plugged into it. Just make certain to get one that can do pppoa, as its not entirely as common as pppoe...

Pretty much any of them, might as well go 802.11g. For the past... wow, 4 years my wireless router has been a Linksys WPC11 card in a WDT11 adapter in a Linux box, so I'm really not the best to ask as I'm using a desktop card as an access point. I recently picked up a Netgear WGR614, but looking at the config it doesn't seem to do pppoa... that and it was a freebie so I don't even know what they cost these days, $50?

I don't really have a brand loyalty, Linksys, Netgear, D-Link... I've had to RMA kit to all of the them when it blew up, that's about all that matters to me, and they're all about a level 2 headache hastle, no big deal.

Erm Fin, could you please split this off as the Speedtouch 330 is a USB ADSL modem with no ethernet connection and I dont think you can use it for wireless.

Proud, thank you, I am a great big friggin idiot...

Whoops,

jimjam78,

This is an entirely different story, your modem doesn't have RJ-45, I'm a moron, and there's not a whole lot that can be done... kinda, mail me or start a new thread and mail me the URL of the thread and help you out more, didn't expect this one to get hijacked as far as it has.

Cheers,

Finegan

jimjam, please don't "piggyback" unrelated questions onto someone else's thread. You interrupted proud's thread and that is considered rude according to generally accepted Netiquette.

I've split your question into an entirely new thread.
