after updating ubuntu my wireless device is gone

under network it's no longer listed, but under devices the chipset is listed. is there a way to force it back in, or reinstall it?

i just installed it, it worked (netgear wgt311t) then i did the updates (all but the x-common worked) it said i should reboot the computer so i did...

so now when i get back into it, the adapter is no longer listed - what happened? is there a way to get it back or anything?

Did you install a separate driver to support your wireless device, or was it supported in Ubuntu out-of-the-box?
If you installed a separate driver, chances are that you need to re-install that driver package after your Ubuntu-upgrade.

naw it was supported right out of the box

but it's all good, i just reloaded ubuntu - i think i probably created the problem by deleting something i shouldn't have. but i got it all back in working order and i think i'm almost to the point of switching completely over...
