I think there is a file in your /etc/rc.d directory that is called rc.hotplug. Just make it non-executable (chmod -x rc.hotplug) and that should do the trick. To get to the point where you can edit the file, boot into linux single mode. To do that, when LILO shows up on your screen, select the kernel you usually use, then go down to the bottom of the screen where it says "boot" and add the word single to the line. So if your kernel is named Linux, at the boot line you would type Linux single.
That bypasses most of the start-up scripts and should get you to a login prompt. Login as root and make the changes to rc.hotplug.
that is to said i am not able to use my hotplug service right?
if it is the case..do u have another method the use the centrino wireless device...i have tried useing driver loader...the ipw2100driver(that make me post)
the above two things dont work for me...also tried installing Suse distro for my wireless device..failed also
Well, I think the idea at this point is to disable hotplug so you can read your logs and find out why it is hanging. I really don't know much about the ipw2100 driver, but from the INSTALL file, it should work with hotplug. So the question is where did things go wrong and the answers are hopefully in either your /var/logs/syslog or /var/log/messages.
