acx111 with SimplyMEPIS, WEP
 
Hi,

Does anyone know when there will be a driver available for an acx111 wireless card which will support WEP?

I've got a laptop with an acx111 wireless card.

I've managed to get it working with SimplyMEPIS, but only with no WEP encryption.

I have heard that WEP isn't working yet with an acx111, I was wondering how long I would have to wait before I could use the card propperly.

I very much doubt if a driver will ever be released for that chipset. Your best bet may be

which I assume you have already visited. I imagine that project will implement WEP on the acx111 - I'm sure a donation to achieving this goal wouldn't go amiss.
Alternatively if WEP support is a must I would suggest an exchange for another card, preferably supporting a manufacturer that releases its driver code.
