Acer Aspire 5315-2153 cannot connect to Microsoft MN-700 Router

Hello,

I am running Mandriva Linux on an Acer 5315-2153. I have a Microsoft MN-700 wireless router setup, however I am not able to connect to it. Right now I am connected to a Linksys router, so my wireless adapter is working.

Is it not possible to connect to a Microsoft MN-700 from a Linux machine? Or is it likely that I have to change some of the settings on the router to make this possible?

In theory, any wireless router should operate the same as any other wireless router since they are all built to the same standards. That said, there are things that can go wrong.

Can you see the SSID of your Microsoft router? Are you running any security on it? Any description you can give of what you've tried and what you're seeing would be helpful.
