You should try ndiswrapper for setting up wireless lan (works in Fedora) :

If you have "apt" setup on your system then :
$ apt-cache search ndiswrapper
will show you all that you can install using "apt-get"
Make sure that the ndiswrapper module version that you install matches your linux kernel version (you can find this using "uname -r" ).
