Xen & Windows Server 2008 R2 x64

Hello!

I'm having an issue that maybe someone here can provide some insight on.

Here is what my host is running:

CentOS release 5.6 (Final)
Linux 2.6.18-238.12.1.el5xen #1 SMP Tue May 31 14:02:29 EDT 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
xen-3.0.3-120.el5_6.2
qemu-0.10.5-1.el5.2
virt-manager-0.6.1-13.el5.centos

I'm running a cluster of hosts and my primary issue is that if I "live migrate" a Windows Guest (Server 2008 R2 x64, fully virtualized) from one host to the other using virt-manager, the VM will migrate but upon reaching the other host in the cluster, the VM will "freeze" and need to be rebooted. If I do not live migrate but shutdown and "Run" on the other host in the cluster via virt-manager, the Windows Guest will "freeze" after booting and will need to be rebooted. I have other guests running in the cluster (para-virtualized CentOS guests) that live migrate without incident.

My Windows Server Guests run without any issues after the initial "migration hiccup". They also run well if I create the VM on a host and never migrate it. They are running with the most recent GPL PV drivers installed from meadowcourt.org (http://meadowcourt.org/downloads/gpl...0.11.0.308.msi).

Can any one provide any insight into what might be happening?

Are you moving from server to server?

Yes. Hardware is identical.

Just FYI, we've found a temporary fix for non-live migrations.

If I do a "xm destroy" on the running host for the VM that is to be migrated then "xm create" on the host it's being migrated to, it boots and functions properly without incident on the new host in the cluster. I don't know if this provides any further information that can help me solve the issue of Windows VM's freezing during a live migration or not.
