VMWare 10.0.3, Mint 17, Kernel 3.17 Problems

Hi All,

I had a prefectly running VMWare set-up, that is, until I up-dated my Kernel to 3.17. I should also say I have Linux Mint 17 (Ubuntu 14.04) 64-Bit.

At the time, VMware Workstation 10.0.1, worked well. I have tried countless work arounds e.g. scripts, and also 10.0.3. I still get the same error:

Quote:
Starting VMware services:
Virtual machine monitor done
Virtual machine communication interface done
VM communication interface socket family done
Blocking file system done
Virtual ethernet failed
VMware Authentication Daemon done
The problem seems to be with the Virtual Internet. Can someone please help me along? I have been Googling for days. LOL! THX, in advance, for any replies.

Hi All,

From trying many, many Googles, reading threads, following numerous suggestions without any success, is there a solution to working with VMWare and any newer Linux Kernel?

I apologise for being so persistant. And, thanks in advance for any assistance.
