I am trying to install Zenwalk on an iMac using Virtualbox. At the end of the install process the install program prompts you to reboot using the cntrl + alt + delete combination, which, unfortunately does not work on the iMac.
I rebooted using the restart option from the apple menu which forces Virtualbox to close as well. Then when restarting, instead of Zenwalk, the install CD (iso in this case) reboots and install routine starts all over again.
Anybody have a similar experience and figure out a solution?
I reinstalled last night, when I got to the prompt I exited the install program and then issued a reboot command from the command line. Zenwalk then started, sign disclosure statement, register as a new user etc...
However the next time I started a session, it was back to the reinstall program. I then ditched (into the garbarge) the iso file and rebooted. The computer then barked back saying it could not find the iso file in order to install.
I will burn the iso to a CD and try again. Virtualbox states you can install from either an iso file or CD so I'm still not sure what the problem is but the iso file seems to be the issue right now.
Oh, yeah, now I remember (well, almost). I haven't tried Zenwalk in VBox, but I tried an old Slackware release, and, after installation Ctrl+Alt+Delete was going to reboot my "real" machine. So I tried either reboot or telinit 6.

Reason: mispelling
In the virtual machine definition you can change both the boot order and whether the virtual CD/DVD ROM drive is mounted and, if so, whether it is connected to a real CD/DVD ROM drive or loaded with a .iso file.
If you are showing the VM's video screen in a host window, the host window's Machine drop down menu includes an item to generate a virtual Ctrl+Alt+Del.
All - Thanks for the advice and input. I did install Zenwalk but then had to give up, at least for now, due to resolution problems (I rebooted three times and it came up 1600 x 1200, 1st time, 1024 x 768, 2nd time, and after logging in a third time - no screen at all?
Also, no luck with installing the guest additions package.
However, before I give up for good, one question.
Has anybody had any success running this combination? Zenwalk 6.2 as a guest on an iMac using VirtualBox?
If yes, I may be foolishly tempted to return to the battle.
