ssh to virtualbox guest.

Set up the virtualbox guest with at least one network interface Bridged, and use that address to access that server.

Default under Virtualbox is NAT, which is pretty well restricted to allowing client (outbound) traffic only.

" I am not able to ssh the box from outside."

Outside as in what exactly? Outside meaning ssh can't because ISP restricts it or what?

Change the VirtualBox network adapter from "NAT" to "bridged".

EDIT: should have looked at the first reply before posting.
