Using TightVNC after entering the password I get connection closed popup

Help am going bald

I have installed remote admin (VNC) on a virtual suse linux machine thats on my windows xp box.

When I run the tightVNC client on windows xp the gui user password screen is displayed from the Virtual Linux box in the tightVNC client screen, but when I enter the username password I get connection closed popup window.

any ideas?

Also when I tried realVNC it starts a process on the linux machine but no screens are displayed on the xp side

which is the virtual mashine?
if its virtualbox: did you acivate the host-only adapter in the settings->network? (besides/in addition to the NAT one, which is the default)

I have a windows xp box I created a virtual machine on it and I have suse linux 11 loaded on the virtual machine. long story short suse is the VM am using NAT. Now from my earlier post I connect to the suse box. It brings up the the suse GUI logon screen for me to logon so the communication is ok. But when I type the password and click to logon I get connection closed.

Is the VNC server running OK?

You can check it by telnet command like this:
Code:

[admon@org /home/monitor/conf]$ telnet 181.181.181.181 5902
Trying 181.181.181.181...
Connected to 181.181.181.181.
Escape character is '^]'.
RFB 003.008

^]quit

telnet> quit
Connection closed.

Pay attention to the output when connected.
