Resizing VirtualBox VDI hard drive for Windows XP on a Fedora 17 host
I am running Virtual Box 4.1.16 r78094 on Fedora 17. PC has an AMD Phenom II X4 840 quad core and 8 gigs of ram. I have a Windows XP virtual machine running and the hard drive has run out of free space (got error message 210megs free space left). From a terminal I ran modifyhd command and bumped it from 10gigs to 20.
When looking at settings for the Windows machine in Virtual Box it shows the VDI as 20 gigs. Inside Windows however it still sees the C: drive as its original size of 10 gigs. Closing Virtual Box and reopening didn't change this.
