Oracle VM issue. Removed cdrom from the vm configuration. now need it back

So I removed the cdrom from the vm's setting under the disks section. Now I had to re add the cdrom back to vm. So my question is, How do determine if linux see the cdrom and what device it is? I think after I determining this all I will need to is link it to /dev/cdrom.

Thanks
Braven

I fix the issue. A hard reboot and the cdrom showed up. Is it possible to do rescan for cdrom with rebooting the server?

I'm assuming that you used a physical cd. Then you used tools to attach it to the vm. Is that correct?

I am adding the cdrom though Oracle Vm manager. So the hardware is vituralized.

A vm should know that devices are attached like a normal computer would. If your system isn't set to automount then maybe re-mount it from gui or command line?
