Hi,

In my company just we have migrated Oracle Database

From Solaris Sparc Server [Physical] to RHEL [VM] ESX based server.

After migration we are facing high %wa after starting the database on Linux Server. [It varies from 40 to 50]

In the same ref. I have checked below points.

1. RAM/CPU configuration between Physical Vs VM--IS is similar configuration.

2. While comparing Database VM latency it shows average 1253118909, while other non-databse VMs indicated 0 latency. [Disk Latency from ESX Vsphere]

In the same ref. I would like to know below points.

1. Is there any tuning required for Database running on RHEL VM.
2. From ESX perspective what other parameter we need to check and tune for Database specific VM.

Please suggest.

as far as i know Oracle tuned there "unbreakable Linux" ( different from RHEL ) to run their database VERY fast
