Old Linuxes in VBox
Hi all,
I have a strange addiction old old Linuxes. Whenever I try to run any Linux distro from before about 2002 my graphics don't work. SuSE (at least with SaX2 and as far back as 7.1, but I haven't tested anything older) seems to be the only exception. Red Hat Linux and Slackware never give me a GUI before 7.3 and 8/0 respectivly. Know any tricks or special configs? I know its a long shot.

Might be easier to use qemu.
I suspect that you might be able to get vesa to work in virtualbox. Even virtual displays offer vesa. Most of the older distro's offer vesa support.

Sorry I haven't replied... Free time is 0+1/∞. I tried some things - VESA only seems to work in DemoLinux. Would copying the X configuration file from an older one work, or would it not work?
