I created one virtual machine OEL(ORACLE ENTERPRISE LINUX 5.7) I allocate 2048MB RAM and 20GB of hard-disk space.
I am trying to install Oracle 11g Release-1 in the OEL. I created all groups and required users, but during validation it gives me DISPLAY variable error.
----ERROR----
>>> Could not execute auto check for display color using command /usr/X11R6/bin/xdpyinfo. Check if DISPLAY variable is set.
I tried almost every solution from internet but still not able to solve this error. Please help.
I'd have downloaded the pre-made virtual machine from Oracle. It has the database and the OS in a pre-made virtual appliance.
The error is some x windows issue or some fault of the installer. There are all sorts of posts on that subject and many answers ranging from different packages to settings.
