KVM

I installed RHEL 6 - 64 bit as Host in IBM server and
installed RHEL 4.8 as guest using native utility of RHEL 6.

Enable telnet on guest and host

Disabled selinux on Host and guest.

disabled firewall on Host and guest.

disabled iptables and ip6tables on Host and guest.

I configured bridge and written files such as

ifcfg-eth0,ifcfg-eth1,ifcfg-br0 on Host OS and
ifcfg-eth0 on guest OS.

Now Host and bridge are pinging.

But guest is not pinging.

please guide me sir

Does KVM know to use the bridge? just because you have bridged the network doesn't mean it will use it, you need to tell the vm (guest) to use the br0 interface instead of eth0.

Should be BRIDGE=br0

in ifconfig you can see that the bridge has the mac of vnet0, while normally it will have the mac of the underlying NIC.
In brctl show you can also see that eth1 isn't plugged into the bridge, only vnet0 is there.
