Install Grub2 on a disk image file

Certainly some of you already had installed grub on disk image files to prepare vms to run. But has anyone did the same with grub2?

There are plenty of information on how to accomplish this with old grub. (like this site:

However, I haven't found how to do the same with new grub.


Any help is appreciated.

I believe it would be similar to the original Grub.
