How to upgrade OPENGL in a vmware CENTOS 5.8

I have installed a CentOS 5.8 in a vmware virtual machine. I am using a software that complains that the version of opengl must be higher than 1.3
I have included the output of the glxinfo below - : it indicates that the OpenGL version string: 1.2 (1.5 Mesa 6.5.1)
The output from the X -version is also included.
How shall I upgrade the OpenGL from 1.2 to 1.3 ? Which rpm are needed and how to proceed ?
Thanks

centos 5.8 is unsupported
Please upgrade to the ONLY supported version of the OLD 5 series
CentOS 5.9 and this is and will be the very last minor upgrade to the 5 series

of note rhel ( and cent) will never change the major version of software installed over the 10( 7 for cent) year life span of the os
the version of opengl in mesa that was in 5.0 will be the SAME major version that is in 5.9 when it hits it's end of life in 5( 3 for cent) years

you install the current os CentOS 6.4
or
start breaking a lot of things and start building mesa from source

Quote:
Which rpm are needed and how to proceed ?
none , there are none for the unsupported centos 5.8

I will upgrade to 5.9
When you mention starting breaking a lot of things and start building mesa from source, what are the different steps to be achieved ?
Any suggestion?
