How to install Heartbeat on RHEL 6 without Internet?

Dear all,

In my project, I have to install heartbeat but unfortunately there is no internet in the customer site. But we can connect to the server from my office remotely via VPN. I want to know whether can I install the heartbeat in RHEL 6.5 64bits without internet. If yes, guide me how to do?

Thanks.

This makes absolutely no sense at all. If your customer has no Internet connection...HOW, exactly, are you able to VPN to the customer site???? What do you think the VPN runs over? Unless you have a dedicated circuit that the customer installed for you, you've got Internet....and how would they even do business WITHOUT an Internet connection???

And how you install it is the same way as you were told before:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ux-4175481539/

You would download the packages from the Red Hat network, and upload them to the customer server. Install from there. Again, unless you PAY FOR RHEL, you won't be able to download those packages. If you ARE paying for RHEL, then call Red Hat support, and ask them for a list of what you need to download to make this work, and check their knowledgebase, since they have complete instructions available to their customers...

Thanks for your reply.

Actually they have internet but they restrict to access internet from our servers. We put one 3G broadband and in their data center before VPN hasn't ready. Now VPN is ready, so we remove the 3G broadband from the site.

Thanks again.

reposync and createrepo are your friends. Talk to RH support about which channels you need to sync locally.

So you tell them you need access to the Internet for one day to install what you need. Opening a firewall port for a little while is trivial...and, since you're PAYING FOR RHEL, you have access to the Red Hat network, so installation will be trivial. Read the man pages on the yum command, since one of the options is to just DOWNLOAD the packages/dependencies, without installing them. That will get all the packages onto one server, and you can deploy from there.

And again...have you contacted RHEL support????

phyogyi 03-09-2014 09:06 PM

Now our sever can access to internet. But when I tried to install the package with yum install heartbeat, it still show the error.

Ok...the system told you two things to try; did you actually TRY THEM????

And AGAIN, since the system is under support from Red Hat, you should CALL RED HAT SUPPORT. All you need to do is tell them the problem you're having, and they can walk you through fixing it. Why is this a problem? Your system tells you that you are paying for support...you should be using it.

phyogyi 03-10-2014 08:46 PM

Yes I already tried this two thing. But can't fix the problem.

Ok I will contact to Red Hat Support.

Thanks again to all.

Could you solve the problem in the end ? I have a similar situation....

Ok, there were three things mentioned above. Did you try them???

Again, remove the EPEL repo, and/or try the two things the error mentioned.

...and so, should we begin to GUESS as to what error(s)/message(s) you got??? What exactly you did? Read the "Question Guidelines" link in my posting signature...without details, there is no point in posting a question.

And as told to the original OP two years ago...HAVE YOU CONTACTED RED HAT SUPPORT???
