Hello,

I want to access a website installed over my virtualized server from my local machine from my browser. How can I do that?
I have installed UBuntu 9.10 server in Virtual Box and it works great.
Apache is up and running.

My machine is behind a router, whose IP is changing every 24h.
- The IP address of the virtualized ubuntu server over the subnetwork is 10.0.2.5
- The IP of the (real) machine over the subnetwork is 10.0.1.3,
- The IP of the router over the subnetwork is 10.1.1.1
- The IP of the router over the web is (for example) 88.5.200.99 and changes every 24h

So I don't think it's necessary to point my dns to 88.5.200.99, there must be another way to access the website hosted on my virtualized web server from my local machine?

Just browse to 10.0.2.5?

I presume the task here is to be able to browse to 10.0.2.5 from outside of the private network? One option might be allowing the virtual machine to speak to the router and use NAT. however as you appear to be using DHCP with a daily update, you might have to use a service like Dynamic DNS if you want to be able to connect to the server outside of the private network at any given point. Alternatively if you can get to the main machine you could use a tunnel to the machine and route traffic down that if this is just for yourself....

I think if you could clarify essentially where you local machine is and who/what needs to be able to browse your server to help give more suitable advice (IE just you, you and other people, anybody on the Internet, etc).

What networking option have you selected for the guest. The default is NAT which lets you "get out", but if you want to provide a service from the guest then you might want to look at bridged networking.
