What distro are you using for a host?

I was a total virtualization newb a few days ago so I'm probably not going to be much help here but I managed to set up a basic system, connected in the way I wanted (save for this... http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...io-4175459133/)

So here is my source list, its not very long sorry! Im using Debian btw.

For basic setup/network bridging (if you just setup a bridge in the way described below it will put the guests on the same subnet as the host):

http://wiki.debian.org/KVM
http://wiki.debian.org/BridgeNetworkConnections

Im using libvirt to manage my VMs, which I will reserve judgement on as of now. They don't seem to have much useful information in the documentation section of their website bit luckily some of their wiki is quite good:

http://wiki.libvirt.org/page/Main_Page

http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/li...ary/l-libvirt/

I haven't been through all of this yet, but it seems like it might be a reasonably useful read:

http://qemu-buch.de/e/Content

If you have a headless setup or dont want to use VNC (like me) I changed the debian ISO for a fully unattended install/ssh setup which I can go into more detail on if you want (or I believe there is a serial console option too which I didn't use).

hope these help,

J
