Gentoo kernel 4.1.15 on VMWare Workstation 10: cannot access Shared folder

Hi all,
I've just created with VMWare Workstation 10 a 32 bit (x86) vm with the last version of gentoo (kernel 4.1.15-gentoo_r1). Now I would like to enable a shared folder, but I'm not able to let it work properly.
I tried installing the official VMWare-tools, but the compilation always failed even patching the files.
Now I'm trying to use the Open-vm-tools. I emerged successfully the package and the result is that the shared folder is detected by the command:
Code:
vmware-hgfsclient
.
Unfortunately I cannot mount it. The error I receive is: "Error: cannot mount filesystem: No such device"
The mount command is:
Code:
mount -t vmhgfs .host:/sharedfolder /mnt/hgfs
I tried to follow a lot of forums, but unsuccessfully.

What have I missed?
Where am I wrong?

Thank you
