I'M trying to install Fedora on my Toshiba Satellite for a CompTIA Linux + DVD course using Oracle VM VirtualBox as directed from by the lesson, note that my main os is Ubuntu. When I go to choose the Media Source (.iso) file, I get the following error(s).
Failed to open the CD/DVD image /home/developer/Downloads/Fedora-14-i686-Live-Desktop (1).iso.
Could not get the storage format of the medium '/home/developer/Downloads/Fedora-14-i686-Live-Desktop (1).iso' (VERR_NOT_SUPPORTED).
Result Code:

I got it from fedoraproject.org, and I have no idea what MD5 is.
You need to download a file called "Fedora-14-i686-Live-Desktop-CHECKSUM" and open it in your text editor. Then open the search function of your text editor. Then type:
Code:
sha256sum Fedora-14-i686-Live-Desktop.iso
in the console and finally select the long alphanumeric string that comes out and paste it in the text editor's search box, if it finds a coincidence the file is good. If it doesn't you'll need to download it again.
