Run(Boot) a O.S from another partition in a Virtural Machine.

I did a quick search on this and apparently I'm not using the right terms but is this done? Can I have a said O.S mount a different O.S on a different Partition and run it in a Virtual Machine?

Yes, you can run a virtual machine from many locations.

Some virtual machines are pretty easy to do. Most say it is not a recommended way. It is best to run a virtual machine in it's native file based form.
