Any idea regarding the mounting of .vdi file(s) would be appreciated.
With the VM not running, start the VirtualBox configuration utility, select the VM, double click on Storage, right click on storage controller and select "Add Hard Disk", choose a free slot and browse to the .vdi file you want.
