iPhone 4, QEMU 0.14.1 and Windows 7 x64 - need some assistance
I'm currently experiencing a problem with the Apple Mobile Device Support USB driver on a virtualized Windows 7 Professional x64 install, running under KVM-enabled QEMU 0.14.1 on a Debian Linux 5.0 system with kernel 3.0.0 installed.
The problem is that the AMDS software (version 3.4.1.2) refuses to properly start when I use the QEMU monitor to connect the iPhone to the guest. It gives me the "Code 10" error.
I've been to the Apple Knowledge Base article at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 and followed the instructions there. I'm inclined to think that this release of QEMU simply can't do USB well enough for an iPhone of any type to work correctly. Has anyone been able to get this configuration to work?
Can't help you, but it might help to know that I haven't had any real luck with the iphone4 sync under VBox or VMware either, the USB connections are flaky at best, and corrupt the music database at worst. WINE, of course, is not doing USB yet. At least that's been my experience, maybe someone here has it working on better hardware than mine. Still boot Windows to sync the phone, alas.

I was hoping that wouldn't be the case. I tried looking for info on the QEMU wiki to see if anyone was working on USB-related stuff but I didn't see any info. I hope a future release improves the USB support.
