Lightbulb LKLUG Software Freedom Day

Lanka Linux User Group (LKLUG www.linux.lk) is planning to celebrate the Software
Freedom Day by holding a get-together followed by an awareness
campaign.

The get-together will be held in the morning from 9:00 am to 12:00
noon at Mahaweli Centre (close to public library) . This is going to
be a very informal event where members can get to know each other
better, and sometimes for the first time by face. There will be a
couple of very short presentations during the program to introduce
LKLUG and also FOSS culture and community. The rest of the time will
be spent on discussions and activities.

In the afternoon, of course after having lunch, the Group will travel
around the city of Colombo, visiting key locations and distributing
promotional material.

We hope all members will join us in celebrating this very significant
day and spread the word to faimily and friends who would also like to
participate in this historic event. We also plan to have Tux T-shirts,
Linux CDs and other goodies made available for those who come.

For more info please visit http://softwarefreedomday.org/

kesara3k - you will see that I have merged your 2 threads. It's great that you are putting news and events about your LUG on the boards - that's what the LUG Board is for. However, it is better to keep them all in one thread - it makes it easier when searching for a particular LUG to see everything about it altogether.

I see that you have also added the event to the LQ Calendar - which is great. I would urge everyone who is a LUG member to post here and to extend their threads.
