zip viewer/extractor

what would you guys recommend using to unzip .zip files in Linux?? I'm currently unzipping them on my windows machine, posting them on my linux server, then grabbing the contents from the server onto my other linux box... this is QUITE cumbersome...

Try "unzip".

what distro are you running? on red hat 7.3, if i right click on the zip file there's an option to Extract Here using Ark. for zips, tars, tar.gz's, wsz's, etc. i added unstuff to the filetype. so for me i just right click, choose open with > unstuff to extract it to the working directory. but ark should work for everything too. i used unstuff cause ark, for me, had a problem unzipping sun's java api documentation, which was in .zip format. unstuff, unzipped it fast with no problems. depending on distro, you'll prolly have to search for unstuff, if your distro even provides it. red hat 7.3 does provide unstuff and it's in /usr/local/bin. the full path to it is /usr/local/bin/unstuff. :)
